In 2021 8,600 researchers at Swiss universities submitted a petition calling for a national action plan to create more stable positions for mid-level staff. Thanks to the petition the parliament adopted in 2022 the postulat « Pour l’égalité des chances et le soutien de la relève scientifique / Für Chancengleichheit und die Förderung des akademischen Nachwuchses / Pari opportunità e sostegno alle nuove leve accademiche ».
